I spent two months iterating, designing, and developing the game for the final exam of a game design course. I created numerous in-engine prototypes to explore multiple mechanics for each component of the game. Player feedback and gathering diverse opinions were key to this project.
Design
I started with a brainstorming session inspired by a museum visit. From the brainstorming, I developed several movement iterations. Since the game primarily focuses on movement, I designed and prototyped around this core design pillar.
Afterward, I fleshed out various mechanics for different components of the game, creating isolated prototypes for some of them. During the design process, I quickly realized the importance of fast audiovisual feedback and discovered that observing players' reactions could reveal their preferences.
